A Timeless Tale of Life Greatest Lesson: Regret and Redemption

Timeless Tale of Lifes Greatest Lesson

A timeless tale of life greatest lesson: regret and redemption. On the last night of the year, an older man sits alone in a dark house. The night is also scary and dark. It is cold. Lightning flashes and thunders. The wind blows with great force. His heart trembles and his breath is afraid. The old man is very sad, but his sadness is not about the dark house, loneliness, the night, thunder, or the roar of the wind.

Nor about the last night of the year. He remembers his past, and the more he remembers, the more his sadness increases. Tears flow from his eyes over his face, which is covered with his hands.

The Flashing

The past is flashing before his eyes. He remembers his childhood and did not feel sad or worried about anything. He liked to exchange money for rice and sweets. The whole family, parents, brothers and sisters loved him. In the joy of the soon arrival of vacation for studying, he would go to school with books in his arms. As soon as he thought of school, he remembered his classmates. He would become even sad and cry involuntarily, “Oh time, oh time, oh the past. It is a pity that I missed you so late.”

The days of youth

Then he would remember the days of his youth—his red and white face, shapely face, whole body, juicy eyes, pearl-like teeth, and a heart full of ambition. He would remember the joy of human emotions. In the dark days of his eyes, his parents advised him and told him about goodness and godliness, and he would say, “Ah, there is still plenty of time.” And he would never even think about getting old.

He would remember and regret how good it would have been if he had thought of that time, decorated his heart with godliness and goodness, and prepared for death. Ah, time has passed. What will happen if I regret it now? I have ruined myself by constantly saying, “There is plenty of time now.”

Saying this, he got up from his seat and groped his way to the window. He opened the window and saw that the night was just as scary. The darkness was overwhelming. The thunder of lightning was heartbreaking. A terrible wind was blowing. The leaves of the trees were flying, and the branches were breaking. Then he cried out, “Oh, oh, my past life is just as scary as this night.” Saying this, he sat back down.

The Siblings

In the meantime, he remembered his parents, brothers and sisters, friends and acquaintances whose bones had rotted in the graves and turned to dust. His mother, as if lovingly holding him to her chest, stood with tears in her eyes, saying, “Oh, son, time has passed. His father’s radiant face was before him, and a voice came, “Why didn’t we say it for your good, son?” The brothers and sisters were silent, their fingers between their teeth and tears streaming from their eyes. Friends and acquaintances all stand sad and say what can we do now.

Things did Carelessly

In such a situation, he remembered his actions with great carelessness, indifference, and rudeness to his parents, brothers and sisters, friends, and acquaintances. He remembered making his mother sad, his father angry, being rude to his brothers and sisters, and not showing sympathy to his friends and acquaintances. And seeing such love among these naked bones shattered his heart. His breath would choke in his chest, and he would cry out, “Oh, time is gone, oh, time is gone. Why should it be changed now?”

He ran towards the window in panic and reached it, struggling. He opened it and saw that the wind and lightning had stopped, but the night was still dark. His panic subsided a little, and he settled back in his place.

The Dreams

At that moment, he remembered his half-baked dream in which neither his youth nor his youth had remained. Neither that heart nor the fervor of the heart’s desires was left. He remembered the time of his goodness, in which he was more inclined towards goodness than evil. He consoled his heart by remembering his fasting, prayers, pilgrimage, giving zakat, feeding the hungry, and building mosques and wells.

The beggars and Dervishes

He called upon the beggars and dervishes whom he had served and his followers to whom he had sworn allegiance for their help. But the restlessness of his heart did not go away. He saw that his actions ended there. The hungry are still hungry. The mosques are either ruined or in ruins; they are still forests.

The wells are blind. There are no followers or beggars. No one hears his voice or helps him. His heart is again troubled and wonders what he has done that he has set his heart on all mortal things. Why did he not understand earlier? Now, nothing is enough, and then he cried out,

“Oh time, oh time, why did I lose you?”

The Clear Sky and Beautifull Bride

He ran towards the window in panic. When he opened the curtains, he saw that the sky was clear. The wind had stopped. The clouds had opened, and the stars had come out. The darkness had also diminished a little with their brightness. He was looking at the starry night to entertain himself when suddenly he saw a light in the middle of the sky and a beautiful bride in it.

He closed his eyes and started looking at her. As he looked at her, she got closer until she came very close to him. He was amazed to see her beauty and asked her with a pure heart and a tone of love.

A Question

“Who are you?”

She said, “I am the goodness that lives forever.”

He asked, “Is there any way to conquer me?”

She said, “Yes. Very easy, but very difficult. Whoever fulfills the duty of God, like the Bedouin who said, “By Allah, there is no greater, no less.” strives for the good of man and his improvement. I submit to him. Nothing in the world lasts forever.

Good Deeds

Man is the only thing that will last until the end. So, the good that is done for the good of man continues from generation to generation until the end. Prayer, fasting, Hajj, and Zakat end at that time. His death ends all these things. Material things also perish in a few days, but the goodness of man continues to last.

I am the soul of all men. Whoever wants to conquer me should strive for the good of man. At least, he should strive for the good of his people with his heart, soul, and wealth. Saying this, the bride disappeared, and the older man returned to his place.

Remembering the Past

Now, he remembered his past and saw that at fifty-five years of age, he had not done anything for the good of mankind or at least for the good of his nation. All his deeds were based on personal interests. His good deeds were done with greed for reward, as if to bribe God. He had done nothing with the pure intention of the national good.

Thinking of his condition, he was disappointed in meeting this deceitful bride. Seeing his last days, he did not find any hope of doing anything in the future.

The Cried

Then, in a state of great despair, he cried out restlessly,

“Oh time, oh time, can I call you again? Oh, I would give ten thousand dinars if time came again and I could be young.”

Having said this, he let out a cold sigh and fainted.

The Conclusion

Not long after, sweet words began to ring in his ears. His beloved mother came and stood beside him, hugged him, and called him. His father appeared to him. His younger brothers and sisters gathered around him and stood. The mother said, “Son, why do you cry day and night? Why are you restless? Why are you so restless? Get up, wash your face and hands, and get dressed.

Celebrate Nowruz, your brothers and sisters are waiting for you.” Then the boy woke up and realized that he had dreamed and had become an old man in his dream. He told his mother all about his dream. After hearing this, she replied, “Son, don’t do as that regretful old man did, but do as your bride told you.” Hearing this, the boy jumped out of bed and cried out with great joy, “Oh, this is the first day of my life.

I will never be like that older man, and I will marry the bride who showed me such a beautiful face and called me the ever-living goodness. Oh God, oh God, help me. Amen.” So, my dear young fellow citizens! And O children of my people! Strive for the good of your people so that you will not regret it like this older man. Our time is at the end. Now, I pray to God that a young man will rise and strive for the good of his people. Amen.
